Board Member and Co-Chair -Fund Development Committee
Sandra is a German-trained psychologist and health-care leader with over 15 years of experience bridging clinical science, pharmaceutical innovation, and community-based mental health. She earned her degree in psychology from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and began her career in research at the Max Planck Institute before moving into the pharmaceutical industry.
Over the next decade and a half, Sandra held leadership roles across immunology and HIV prevention and treatment, where she also led diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and played an instrumental role in introducing new PrEP options to Canada. Witnessing the growing mental health crisis, particularly at the intersection of sexual health and identity, she chose to return to her clinical roots to focus on advancing holistic, accessible models of care.
Sandra has supported a range of charitable organizations, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Arthritis Society, and several LGBTQ+ and HIV-focused initiatives as a strategic consultant and fundraiser. She brings to HQ a rare blend of scientific insight, community engagement, and corporate leadership experience, guided by a deep commitment to equity and social impact.
